Tax Jurisdiction Details Panel

Use the Tax Jurisdiction Details panel to view and edit the properties of tax jurisdictions.

Accessing the Tax Categories Details panel:

1. In the Navigation Panel select Tax Jurisdictions .

A listing of the available Tax Jurisdictions is displayed.

2. Double-click the Tax Jurisdiction that you want to view.

The Tax Jurisdiction Detail panel is displayed.

The Tax Jurisdiction Details panel consists of the following tabs:

Display Names Tab

The Display Names tab is displayed by default when you access the Tax Jurisdiction Details panel. Use this tab to specify the description and the display names of the tax jurisdiction in the supported languages.

The Display Names tab contains the following controls and commands:

Name

Description

Code

Specifies the unique code that represents the tax jurisdiction.

Description

Allows you to enter a description for the tax jurisdiction.

Display Names

Allows you to specify display names for the tax jurisdiction in each of the supported languages.

Default

Indicates which of the supported languages is the default language of the system.

Value

Expands to display all of the supported languages of the system.

Language drop-down

(Drop-down). Allows you to display a specific supported language.

Settings Tab

Use the Settings tab to specify the country, region or postal code where a tax rate is to be applied. The tax rate is applied against whatever level of information you specify for the jurisdiction. For example, if you only specify the country, the associated tax rate is applied to all addresses in the country regardless of region or postal code.

The Settings tab contains the following controls and commands:

Name

Description

Country

(Mandatory). Specifies the country where the associated tax rate applies.

Region

(Optional). Specifies the region where the associated tax rate applies. The regions available in the list depends on the country selected.

Note: You cannot have more than one jurisdiction with the same country and region settings. This is regardless of the postal code settings.

From Postal Code

(Optional). Specifies the beginning of the range of postal codes where the associated tax rate applies.

Note: If you need to specify postal codes, specify both the From Postal Code and To Postal Code. You cannot specify one of the postal code values without the other.

To Postal Code

(Optional). Specifies the end of the range of postal codes where the associated tax rate applies.
