Language and Cultures

The Orchestration Console supports a predefined set of Language Culture Names (supported by the MSDN Commerce Server). Orckestra Commerce Cloud's language and culture designations, therefore, consist of these predefined combinations of language and country or culture, en-US for US English and fr-CA for Canadian French, for example.

As part of the Orchestration Console system administration, you can select the language-cultures that you support in your system (there are over 120 of them). By default, the Orchestration Console supports three, en-US for US English, fr-CA for Canadian French, and fr-FR for France French.

In addition, every Product has the default Language-Culture designation, but you can add other Language-Culture designations to Products as needed. This means that you can filter Product searches by Language-Culture. In the Product Management, for example, you can see the Language-Culture selector beside the scope selector on the Catalog page. From the Catalog page, if you select fr-CA, only products with fr-CA as the Language-Culture are viewable. In each catalog, you can specify which of these supported cultures you want to support.

Language and culture settings can also be used to help you display multilingual components of an order using the preferred language of the Customer.

For example, when the customer's preferred language is set to fr-CA, the line items for the order will be displayed in Canadian French, if the catalog has Canadian French configured as a Language and Culture.

You can set your preferred User Interface display Language by using the User settings panel link, under the Application Selector

For information about the supported language-culture names, see the MSDN topic Table of Language Culture Names, Codes, and ISO Values
