Packing a shipment
When all the items have been picked, you can now pack the shipment and prepare the customer order. On this screen you can complete the packing step, view the shipment details and print the packing slip.
Note: The option to print packing slips remains available throughout the rest of the workflow. It's not mandatory to print the packing slip at this moment. If the packing slip has gotten lost or damaged or if you need an additional copy for another parcel, you can reprint the slip at any time.
Packing a shipment
| 1. | Tap the green action button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. The shipment status changes to Packing in progress and the allotted time to accomplish this task is updated. |
| 2. | Select the package type. |
Tip: By default, while packing a shipment, the system assigns all the items to the same parcel. If the size of an item makes it impossible for the entire shipment to fit inside a single parcel, tap the Transfer button next to each item you want to move into another parcel. Options will be displayed so you can adjust each parcel's contents.
| 3. | Pack the items into one or multiple parcels. |
| 4. | Tap the printer in the bottom right corner of the window to print the packing slip. |
| 5. | A confirmation message appears at the bottom of the screen, tap OK. |
The application displays the following message: Generating packing slip and then a print dialog is displayed. The dialog may vary depending on the device used.
| 6. | Tap the dark green action button , then select Complete Packing to complete the packing step. The status of the shipment changes to |
Note: The term booking refers to the selection of a carrier and the assignment of a tracking number to the parcel.
Note: Shopify will process the payment for the entire order when the last shipment in the order is indicated as complete, in other words, when the dark green action button
is pressed on that final shipment.
