Creating relationships between products and Variants

There are several methods to create relationships in the Product Management. Using Orckestra Commerce Cloud, you can create relationships between categories and products like:

Relationship between a base product or a variant and one or more categories. |

•
|
Relationships between base products, (no variants). |
|
•
|
Relationships between a base product and variants. |
|
•
|
Relationships between a variant and a base product. |
|
•
|
Relationships between variants. |

Select the base product and display its details panel. |
|

Click the Relationships tab. |
|
3.
|
In the bottom right corner of the screen, make a selection: |
|

|
To create a relationship with one or more categories, click Create Relationships with Categories. |
|

|
In the new window that is displayed, the base product is selected by default. Click Next. |
|
•
|
In the drop-down menus at the top of the screen, select a Relationship Type and a Link Mode. To find out more about relationship types and link modes, see Merchandising Relationships. |

|
In the category tree, select one or multiple categories by checking their boxes. |
|
•
|
Click Save in the bottom right corner of the screen. |
|

To create a relationship with one or more products, click Create Relationships with Products. |
|

In the next window that is displayed, the base product is selected. Click Next. |
|
•
|
Use the catalog's tree structure or the search field on the left to locate the products you wish to use. |
|
•
|
Check boxes to select products. |
The Next button will not become available until at least one product has been selected.

In the drop-down menus at the top of the screen, select a Relationship Type and a Link Mode. To find out more about relationship types and link modes, see Merchandising Relationships. |

Check that all relevant products are selected. |
|
•
|
The base product is selected by default. If you instead want to create a relationship with a variant, click the base product to display the list of variants and select the variant(s) you wish to use. |
For example, you could select Products A, B, C and D and create a relationship of Type "Bundle" with a "Two-way" Link mode. When selecting several products simultaneously, the following relationships are created:
- A relationship is created for Product A with products B, C and D.
- A relationship is created for Product B with products A, C and D.
- A relationship is created for Product C with products A, B and D.
- A relationship is created for Product D with products A, B and C.
