Managing Prices and Price Lists

Using the Prices tab, you can view all of the price lists that are associated with a product. You can also specify prices for a product and any of its variants You can specify the price inheritance for sales and dependent catalogs that have the same currency. You can also overwrite the value of any price list in a dependent catalog for a product and its variants.

A price list is valid for an entire scope. Price list values can be set for a specific product or variant and only apply to the price list where they were set. This means that a product or variant can have multiple price values that vary depending on the price list and the scope.

Price list values are validated when a product definition has prices.
All price values must be positive. The price list set as the default in a sales or dependent catalog cannot be null (zero or less).
You can have one or more price lists of type Regular. For example, price changes by provider/supplier or past season products.
You can have one or more price lists of type Discount. For example, Clearance or On Sale items.

The Current Price is a price that is applied based on price list dates and sequence number, regardless of its type.

When you change the value of a price list in the catalog of a dependent, you break its inheritance from the sales scope catalog. For more information, see Rules of Inheritance.

The current price is identified in the Current Price column while the Current Price List is identified under the Current Price List Name. You can also compare the Current Price to the Default price. The Current Price List Category is also identified.
