Refinement search (facet browsing)

You can use refinement search to find a product in the same way that a customer uses a website.

At any point during the process, you can enter one or more search terms in the search field to focus the scope of your search.

For example, you might be searching for a mens' black belt. When using refinement search you would click, Men > Accessories > Belt to focus the search in a particular area, you could then make your choice from the results based on brand, color, and so on.

1. From the Catalog page, use the scope selector to select the scope that you require.
2. Enter a keyword in the search field and click the magnifier icon

Tip: It is not required to enter a keyword before clicking the magnifier icon. Searching without keywords will list all products available in the catalog. You can click the refinements (facets) to narrow all products that fall under your specifications.

For example, if you perform a search using the keyword "black", all the products that contain "black" in the description, in the attributes and lookups will return in the search. You can then further refine the results using the facets. In this example, only two facets return: Women and Men.

3. In the navigation panel on the left, click a refinement. The number of results is shown in parentheses next to the refinement and the search results in the details panel are updated.
4. Select another refinement and repeat this process until the search results display the items that you require.
