Adding a New Scope
SETTINGS > ADMINISTRATION
You can use the Commerce Modeler to create new scopes but the type of scope you create depends on where it will be located within the hierarchy of the business model.
The Orchestration Console scope types are:

You cannot add a Dependent scope to the Global scope. You can only add a Virtual scope or a Sales scope. |
|

|
You cannot add any scope to a Dependent scope. |
|
•
|
You cannot add a Sales scope to another Sales scope. You can only add a Virtual scope or a Dependent scope. |
|
•
|
The type of scope you can add to a Virtual scope depends on the location of the Virtual scope in the business model. |
|
•
|
If it is below the Global scope in the hierarchy, you can add a Sales scope or another Virtual scope. |
|
•
|
If it is below a Sales scope in the hierarchy, you can add a Dependent scope or another Virtual scope. |
|
•
|
When you create a scope it is inactive with an undefined start and end date. You must Edit the scope to set the start and end dates and activate it. |

In the Navigation panel, select Commerce Modeler. |
|
2.
|
In the Commerce Modeler Diagram View, hover over a Scope. |
Two icons appear above the right corner of the scope , the Edit Scope icon and the Delete Scope icon.
|

|
Click Edit Scope. |
The following choices can appear:

|
Add Sales Scope (Only appears if you are adding to a Virtual scope) |
|
•
|
Add Dependent Scope (Only appears if you are adding to a Sales scope) |
|
•
|
Add Virtual Scope (Only appears if you are adding to another Virtual scope or to a Sales scope) |
|

Select a choice, Add Virtual Scope, for example. |
The Add New Scope dialog box is displayed.

|
Specify a name for the new scope and click OK. |
The new scope is displayed in the Commerce Modeler.

In the Navigation panel, select Commerce Modeler. |
|
2.
|
On the Commerce Modeler Administration page. |
|
3.
|
OPTIONAL: Click the Tree View icon on the right side of the title area. |
The Commerce Modeler Tree View is displayed.
|
4.
|
Select any scope except a dependent scope. |
You cannot add a scope to a dependent scope.
|
5.
|
Hover over Add at the bottom of the page. |
The following icons appear above it.

|
Sales Scope (Active only if you are adding to a Virtual scope) |
|
•
|
Dependent Scope (Active only if you are adding to a Sales scope) |
|
•
|
Virtual Scope (Active only if you are adding to another Virtual scope or to a Sales scope) |
|
6.

Select one of the icons. |
The Add New Scope dialog box is displayed.
|
7.
|
Specify a name for the new scope and click OK. |
The new scope is added to the Tree view under its parent scope and the Scope Details panel slides open.
