Modifying Email Templates
SETTINGS > ADMINISTRATION
You can modify email templates that are automatically sent from the system to meet your business requirements. You can also modify email templates to activate or deactivate a template, or to break or reestablish inheritance.
You cannot switch scopes or language-culture when email template is being edited and is in a modified state. You cannot change the name of a template after it has been created, the display names however can be modified.

In the Navigation panel on the left, click Email Templates. |
A list of all the email templates that are defined in the system is displayed.

Double-click the Email Template that you want to modify.
|

3.
|
Click Edit in the details panel toolbar. |
|
4.
|
Modify the email template as required. |

When you have finished your modifications, click Save. |
|

When a template is saved, it is associated with the scope where it was edited. |
|
•
|
If you cancel before saving any changes, the template remains associated with the parent scope, if applicable. |

In the Navigation panel on the left, click Email Templates. A list of all the email templates that are defined in the system is displayed. |

2.

Double-click the Email Template that you want to activate.
|
|
3.
|
Click Edit in the details panel toolbar. |
|
4.
|
Select the Active check box. |
|
5.
|
Click Save. The email template is immediately activated. |

In the Navigation panel on the left, click Email Templates. A list of all the email templates that are defined in the system is displayed. |

2.

Double-click the Email Template that you want to deactivate.
|

3.
|
Click Edit in the details panel toolbar. |
|
4.
|
Clear the Active check box. |
|
5.
|
Click Save. The email template is no longer active. |

In the Navigation panel on the left, click Email Templates. A list of all the email templates that are defined in the system is displayed. |

Double-click the Email Template that you want to break inheritance for.
|

3.
|
Click Edit in the details panel toolbar. |
|
4.
|
Make a change to any field in the email template. |
|
5.
|
When you have finished your modifications, click Save. The inheritance state is no longer displayed at the top left of the details panel. |

In the Navigation panel on the left, click Email Templates. A list of list of all the email templates that are defined in the system is displayed. |

2.
|
Double-click the Email Template that you want to reestablish inheritance for.
|
|
3.
|
Click Edit in the details panel toolbar. |
|
4.
|
Click Reestablish inheritance. |
You can only reestablish inheritance for an email template in a sales or dependent scope, if inheritance for the email template was previously broken.
A Confirmation dialog appears with the following message:
Are you sure you want to reestablish inheritance and use the content defined in the parent scope?
The content defined in this scope will be deleted.

Do one of the following: |

a.

Confirm the action, click O.K.. When viewing the template from a sales scope the top of the details panel will update with the message Inheriting from scope . |
or
|
b.
|
click Cancel. |
|
6.
|
When you have finished modifying the email template as required, click Save. The inheritance state is now displayed at the top left of the details panel. |
